Minds of Killers

--Original published at MentzersBlog

I watched the Ted Talk “Exploring the Mind of a Killer” because it seemed intresting. Jim Fallon, the speaker first gets the brains of these killers and examines them. Jim realizes that all the murderers  have something in common. The killers have damage on the orbital vortex, which is above the eye sockets and had damage to the Anterior Temporal cortex. A X chromosome also contributes to why they are murderers. The mother can carry a gene called MAOA. This explains why males are more likely to be murders, because males are XY and get one X from their mothers who carry it and not one X from dad and one from mother to balance MAOA gene out. Experiencing that gene and violence going up will contribute to being a killer/murderer. If I was conducting a research study I would observe abused kids and keep track of them and get scans of their brains every year and see the end result. Yes, this will take many years, but I feel it will have a nice end result. Overall, Jim Fallon’s discovering’s seem to connect and think there should be more research conducted.

Does Hypertrophy Make you more Attractive?

--Original published at MentzersBlog

My research study will be on Does Hyperthrophy Make you more Attractive? I believe hypertrophy or making gains makes you more appealing to the people of todays society. I will start off by gathering 10 females and 10 males. Next,  take pictures of them before the hypertrophy stage for the before picture. After my participants worked out for three months on a basis of five times per week I will take pictures of the results for their after pictures. Finally,  I will go around the city with all the participants before and after pictures and see which one the people think looks more attractive; the before or after.  I will do the three times in total to get accurate results. The experiment will take roughly nine months to complete and in the end my question will be answered, Does Hypertrophy make you more Attractive?

First Impression

Hi Welcome to my blog, My name is Tyler Ray Mentzer and I was born on August 20th, 1999 in Ephrata Pennsylvania. I lived in Cocalico, PA for the first year of my life and later moved to Ephrata and have been living there ever since. I went to Ephrata High School and took a psychology class and I just got assigned to this course. When I think of psychology the brain and how people think come to mind. The top three topics I look forward to are treating mental illness, Why we forget and  about stress. Lastly I would like to know how people have mental illnesses and what causes it since it is a common problem in the world. I’ve always been active and played many sports as a kid but football and wrestling stood out to me the most. I played football since I was in third grade so a total of 9 years. Ephrata is one of the worst teams in high school football, now on a 46 game losing streak. I went 0-30 in my career in high school but it was a great time suiting up with my friends on Friday nights. Football taught me that winning isn’t everything as long as you give it your all. While at college here at Elizabethtown I will be continuing my wrestling career and be on my 11th year on the mat. The sport teaches you many life lessons and evolves you in becoming a man. It taught me how to work hard and push yourself. Without wrestling and the help of my coach Josh Clair I would not be where I am today. He helped me not only with wrestling but in school and becoming a better person. Other than sports, I hang out with my friends to have a good laugh and have a good time. Lately, I have gotten more into working out and have been focusing on that during the summer and will continue to do so.
